Plaid Integration

Haptic uses Plaid to connect securely to your bank accounts.

What is Plaid?

Plaid is a financial technology company that provides secure connections to 12,000+ banks, credit cards, and investment accounts. Your credentials never touch Haptic’s servers - they go directly to Plaid, which communicates with your bank.

How It Works

  1. Click “Add Account” in your Haptic dashboard
  2. Plaid modal opens with bank search
  3. Select your bank and enter credentials
  4. Plaid connects and issues an access token
  5. Haptic stores the encrypted token
  6. Done! Your accounts are connected

Supported Institutions

  • 12,000+ banks in the US
  • All major banks (Chase, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, etc.)
  • Credit unions
  • Credit cards (Amex, Discover, etc.)
  • Investment accounts (Vanguard, Fidelity, Robinhood, etc.)

Data Access

Haptic uses Plaid’s Transactions product, which provides:
  • Account balances
  • Transaction history
  • Account details (name, type, mask)
Read-only access - cannot move money or modify accounts.

Troubleshooting

Try searching by bank name or website URL. If still not found, your bank may not be supported yet.
  • Verify your bank credentials are correct
  • Check if your bank requires 2FA
  • Some banks require you to enable third-party access in settings
Plaid connections can expire after 60-90 days of inactivity. Simply reconnect through your dashboard.
