Troubleshooting

Connection Issues

  • Verify URL is exactly https://mcp.haptic.sh/mcp
  • Check your internet connection
  • Ensure your AI supports MCP protocol
  • For OAuth: Make sure you’re signed in to Haptic
  • For tokens: Verify token starts with hap_ and hasn’t been deleted
  • Ensure you have an active subscription
MCP access requires an active Haptic subscription. Subscribe at haptic.sh/dashboard.

Tool Errors

Connect a bank account first:
  1. Go to dashboard
  2. Click “Add Account”
  3. Complete Plaid connection flow
Dates must be in YYYY-MM-DD format (e.g., “2024-01-15”). Your AI should convert natural language automatically.
  • Verify the date range includes activity
  • Some accounts may not have transaction data (e.g., new accounts)
  • Try expanding the date range

Plaid Issues

  • Double-check your banking credentials
  • Some banks require 2FA - have your phone ready
  • Enable third-party access in your bank’s security settings
Plaid connections expire after 60-90 days. Reconnect by:
  1. Remove the institution from your dashboard
  2. Add it again with fresh credentials
  • Plaid may not have detected all accounts
  • Try disconnecting and reconnecting
  • Some account types (e.g., loans) may not be supported

Performance

  • First call to Plaid can take 2-3 seconds (real-time data)
  • Your AI may cache responses - this is normal
  • Plaid’s API occasionally has delays
  • Large transaction queries (>1000 transactions) can be slow
  • Try smaller date ranges
  • Contact support if persistent
